Meister Geppetto wünscht sich nichts mehr als einen kleinen Sohn. Die blaue Fee erfüllt ihm den Wunsch und haucht darauf der Holzpuppe, die Geppetto schnitzte Leben ein. Pinocchio ist geboren. Damit er auf dem richtigen Pfad schreitet, soll die Grille Jiminy Cricket auf ihn aufpassen. Doch der ehrenwerte John bringt Pinocchio vom richtigen Pfad ab. Als Pinocchio verschwindet geht Meister Gepetto auf die Suche nach ihm...

Das hätte sich Disney ersparen können! Ich mag Tom Hanks, aber in dieser Rolle ist er absolut schlecht. Er spielt als wäre er selbst eine Zeichentrickfigur, dabei spielt er als Realmensch und das ist der grösste Fehler. Während der Produktionszeit war Corona voll am Wirken, in wie weit dies Einfluss nahm, ist mir nicht bekannt. Aber gescheiter wäre es gewesen, sie hätten den Film animiert und das Cast sprechen lassen. Viele vom Cast werden den Original Zeichentrickfilm gesehen haben, anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären, warum sie alle wie Zeichentrickfiguren spielen? Und Pinocchio wurde so albern n Szene gesetzt, da lobe ich mir Pumuckl. Ich sah früher viele Pinoccio Film und Serien, die mochte ich wirklich, aber das hier? Fazit: Man kann es ja auf Corona schieben, aber diese Adaption ist grottenschlecht.
 

Hintergrundinfos:
Das Produktionsbudget betrug zirka 150 Millionen $. Der Film basiert auf der Geschichte „The Adventures of Pinocchio“ von Carlo Collodi und der Disney Adaption von 1940 von Aurelius Battaglia, William Cottrell, Otto Englander, Erdman Penner, Joseph Sabo, Ted Sears und Webb Smith. Gedreht wurde, unter anderem, in Tuscany Italien.
